CLINICS: Level 1 – No experience necessary. Minimum age –12 years old.Cost - $85.00. This includes registration for the year. Level 2 – Must be a certified Level 1 Umpire for a minimum of 2 years with approval from local association and District UIC, Capable of umpiring adult fastpitch.- Minimum age – 16 years old.- Cost - $95.00. This includes registration for the year. Level 3 – Must be a Certified Level 3 Umpire for a minimum of 2 years with recommendation from the District UIC.- Capable of Umpiring adult fastpitch and National Championships at the Midget level.- Cost $120.00. This includes registration for the year Level 4 – Must be a certified Level 3 Umpire for the past two years with recommendation by the Provincial UIC. Refresher Clinic $25.00 – All returning Umpires are required to take a refresher clinic each season. Plus registration fee for applicable level. Registration fees as follows: Level 1 - $45.00 Level 2 - $55.00 Level 3 - $65.00 Level 4 - $75.00 Level 5 - $80.00 · There are opportunities for Umpires to Umpire within their local associations, District playoffs, Provincials, Western Canadians and National Championships. DRESS· Dark Navy Blue Crested Cap (softball Canada Crested) · Powder Blue mesh short sleeve shirt (Softball Canada Crested) · Navy Blue Pants (Neatly Pressed) · Black or Navy Belt · Black Shoes · Softball Canada Windshirt or Jacket (Softball Canada Crested) · Softball Canada Crested ball bag. EQUIPMENT NEEDED · Umpire Brush (less than $5) · Umpire Indicator (Clicker) (less than $5) · Jock or Jill Some clothing and most equipment can be purchased from Local Merchants. I will avoid or put an end to any situation that threatens the safety of the athletes.
I will maintain a healthy atmosphere and environment for competition.
I will not permit the intimidation of any athlete either by word or by action. I will not tolerate unacceptable conduct toward officials, other athletes, spectators or myself.
I will be consistent and objective in calling all infractions, regardless of my personal feelings toward a team or individual athlete.
I will handle all conflicts firmly but with dignity.
I accept my role as a teacher and role model for fair play, especially with young participants.
I will be open to discussion and contact with the athletes before and after the game.
I will remain open to constructive criticism and show respect and consideration for different points of view.
I will obtain proper training and continue to upgrade my officiating skills.
